Charlotte Birnbaum is a culinary historian and the author of numerous books on food and art. She is a member of the Swedish Academy of Gastronomy and the editor of the book series ”On the Table” (Sternberg Press). She initiated a series of event called This Dinner is a Group Show, in which artists and chefs collaborate to create extravagant meals. Her ”PLATEAUX” are unique sculptural objects, meant to function as conversation pieces for the dining table or as autonomous works of art.
